Succession Leads the 75th Emmy Award Nominations, Event to Finally Be Held on January 15

Summary

  • The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were delayed due to last year’s strikes but will finally take place on January 15, with Succession leading the nominations.
  • A star-studded lineup of presenters including Jason Bateman and Jodie Foster will take the stage at the Emmy Awards event.
  • The nominations include expected titles like The Crown and Better Call Saul, and some surprises and snubs, such as the nomination of Wednesday and Jury Duty.

Following a major delay caused by last year’s Writers Guild of America strike and the subsequent SAG-AFTRA strike, the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards will at last take place next week on January 15. The nominations for the 75th Emmy Awards were announced back in July last year, with Succession leading the pack. The strikes, which have now concluded but at the time caused major delays across Hollywood, were originally scheduled to take place last September.

With everything now back on track for the Emmy Awards event, an all-star line-up of celebrity presenters has now been revealed, with the likes of Jason Bateman, Quinta Brunson, Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Jodie Foster, Jon Hamm, Ken Jeong, Joel McHale, Pedro Pascal, and Hannah Waddingham among those who will take the stage.

Audiences can watch the 75th Emmy Awards on FOX on Monday, January 15 at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.

The nominations for the awards celebrating the best of television were revealed last year, with Succession predictably leading the way alongside the highly acclaimed Better Call Saul. The two series, both HBO and AMC, presented their outcomes between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, so it is not a surprise that they are two of the great candidates to win the coveted awards in the drama category. In comedy, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ted Lasso and Barry, which also recently came to an end, will compete against one of the recent revelations, The Bear.

There were also some surprises and snubs, such as the nomination of Wednesday and Jury Duty, but in general, most of the categories are full of expected titles that have been the best in recent months. You can check out the nominees below.
