Lindsay Lohan is expanding her Netflix credits with the upcoming holiday rom-com Our Little Secret. According to Deadline, Kristin Chenoweth will co-star in the flick, which centers on two resentful exes (Lohan and Ian Harding) who are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after discovering that their current partners are siblings. Along with Lohan, Chenoweth, and Harding, the film will also feature Jon Rudnitsky (At Midnight), Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty), Tim Meadows (Mean Girls), Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal), Henry Czerny (Scream VI), Katie Baker (The Mosquito Coast), Ash Santos (Mayor of Kingstown), Jake Brennan (Ricjie Rich) and Brian Unger (Yellowstone).
Our Little Secret marks the second project in Lohan’s two-picture partnership with Netflix. The first, Irish Wish, is set to land on the streamer on March 15. In the Ireland-set romantic comedy, Lohan portrays Maddie Kelly, a woman serving as a bridesmaid in a wedding between the love of her life and her best friend. Before establishing the partnership with Netflix, Lohan filmed the streamer’s Falling For Christmas. The holiday movie, which premiered in 2022, starred Lohan as Sierra Belmont, an engaged heiress who experiences a skiing accident. After being diagnosed with amnesia, she finds herself in the care of the handsome lodge owner – portrayed by Chord Overstreet – and his daughter.
Our Little Secret is helmed by Stephen Herek (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) and written by Hailey DeDominicis. Mike Elliott and Lisa Gooding serve as producers, with Joseph P. Genier executive producing. Our Little Secret is currently in production, and a release date has not yet been announced.
Lindsay Lohan’s Film Return
Falling For Christmas was Lohan’s first starring role in a feature film since Paul Schrader’s 2013 erotic thriller The Canyons. Following her appearance in the critically panned film, Lohan appeared in supporting roles in Till Human Voices Wake Us and Among the Shadows, and in series including 2 Broke Girls and Sick Note, and narrated Prime Video’s Lovestruck High.
Most recently, Lohan appeared in two Mean Girls-related projects. She starred in the original 2004 film as Cady Heron and reprised the role in a Walmart Black Friday commercial in November. She appeared alongside castmates Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Rajiv Surendra, and Daniel Franzese, providing audiences with a sneak peek at what their iconic characters would presently be doing. This month, Lohan surprised moviegoers with a cameo appearance in Paramount’s Mean Girls musical, where she briefly appeared as a Mathletes judge.
We may soon see Lohan reprise another character from one of her most popular films: Anna Coleman from 2003’s Freaky Friday. Jamie Lee Curtis, who portrayed Anna’s mother, Tess, in the Disney film, has been vocal about her desire to revisit the story through a sequel.
Chenoweth is a Tony Award-winning actress who has gained acclaim for her work on You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Wicked. Chenoweth received an Emmy Award for her work on the ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies. She most recently appeared on Apple TV+’s Schmigadoon!
