While many people have bolstered their cooking skills with their meal kits, the new Blue Apron Prepared and Ready Meals focus on convenience. The single serve, prepared meals go from refrigerator to table in just a few minutes.

Many people may want to focus on healthy eating, but some barriers can make that concept more of a struggle. When convenience blends with balanced eating, it can be a win for everyone.

The new Blue Apron Prepared and Ready Meals offer the convenience without losing sight of the balanced, healthy eating that people have come to expect from the food brand. The single serve, heat and eat option is waiting in the refrigerator. According to the brand, “62% of customers were interested in subscribing to a service with more than one meal solution.” With this option, consumers can have the variety that they are craving.

As Blue Apron’s Senior Vice President of Physical Product said, “Our new category of Prepared & Ready meals opens up the opportunity for Blue Apron to become a one-stop shop for its customers. Now, we’re able to provide customers with multiple convenient meal solutions for a variety of occasions. From when they’re tight on time, but are seeking a freshly prepared meal, to cooking dinner for the family with our traditional meal kits, or looking for a convenient, seasonal offering for the holidays.”

What are the new Blue Apron Prepared and Ready Meals options?

According to Blue Apron, the meal options include:

  • Salmon & Riced Broccoli with Pesto & Feta Cheese
  • Southwestern-Style Turkey with Brown Rice & Monterey Jack Cheese
  • Buffalo-Style Chicken with Mashed Potatoes & Vegetables
  • Chicken & Quinoa Grain Bowl with Feta & Vegetables
  • Italian-Style Grilled Chicken with Sweet Potatoes, Pesto & Almonds
  • Korean-Style Kimchi Rice with Scrambled Eggs & Veggies

Looking at the list, the variety is tremendous. From a bold flavor Buffalo-Style chicken to a simple salmon and rice, it fits into many food preferences.

The most interesting option is the Korean-Style Kimchi Rice with Scrambled Eggs and Veggies. Scrambled eggs are not necessarily the most common food in a prepared meal. It will be interesting to see the texture of this option. More importantly, this idea shows that eggs are not just for breakfast.

In addition, it might be nice for Blue Apron to expand into the breakfast category. Maybe there could be more options like a frittata or quiche in the future.

The Blue Apron Prepared and Ready Meals will be available starting on January 8, 2024. They can be ordered via the brand’s website or app with a subscription or without a subscription as well.
